Dr. Tawfik Jelassi, international expert in strategy and technology management, joins IMD business school

Lausanne, Switzerland (28 September 2015) – IMD, a top-ranked business school and worldwide expert in executive education, has named Dr. Tawfik Jelassi as Professor of Strategy and Technology Management.

Through Dr. Jelassi's distinguished previous positions, IMD benefits from his diverse and rich background that will serve in contributing to learning experiences.

From January 2014 to February 2015, Dr. Jelassi was Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research, and Information & Communication Technologies in Tunisia. Prior to that, he was Chairman of the Board of Directors at Ooredoo Tunisia, the leading mobile telecom operator in the country.

Dr. Jelassi's area of research, teaching and consulting expertise is the strategic use of information technology and the digital transformation of companies and governments. He has been awarded several awards of excellence for his teaching in Europe and the United States.

Dr. Jelassi has also previously accumulated experience in academic positions. Between 2000 and 2013, he was Professor and Dean of the School of International Management at the Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées (Paris). He has also been an executive at several companies and organizations in France, China and Tunisia.

Dr. Jelassi's research has been published in leading academic journals in Europe and the US and he is the author of six books, with the most recent titled "Strategies for e-Business: Creating Value through Electronic and Mobile Commerce," published by Pearson in 2014 and translated in Arabic, Chinese and Korean.

Dr. Jelassi holds a PhD in information systems from the Stern School of Business at New York University (USA) and graduate and post-graduate degrees from the University of Paris-Dauphine (France).
