IMD to tackle Open Innovation at Berlin event
IMD will hold a joint event with Partake AG on 27 October 2015 in the German capital
How is Open Innovation changing the world? Come find out on October 27th at "Innovation Happens Everywhere," an event organized by the IMD Alumni Club Germany with Partake AG in Berlin.
"Open Innovation – a concept that involves capturing ideas in a collaborative hub and outsourcing development to a large group of people or a community – is revolutionizing and rapidly transforming the business landscape in all sectors of our economy," said IMD Professor Howard Yu, who will be one of the upcoming conference's three speakers.
During his presentation, Professor Yu will explore how ubiquitous connectivity – through the internet, smart phones and embedded sensors – is democratizing invention and product development by opening them up to the masses and giving consumers more options than ever before.
According to Professor Yu: "Businesses that fail to embrace open innovation risk being left behind".
Howard Yu is Professor of Strategic Management and Innovation at IMD. He specializes in technological innovation, strategic transformation and change management. His teaching and research activities focus on why and how some firms can sustain new growth while others cannot. In 2015 Professor Yu was named by Poets & Quants, a specialized higher education publication, one of the Best 40 Global Professors Under 40 years old.
Howard Yu will reflect on "The Era of Open Innovation" together with two speakers from Partake AG.
Professor Andreas Mack will share his views on how to kill dogmas and transform organizations to face the challenges of the disruption era. Professor Mack is an expert in the areas of strategy, consumer behavior, innovation management and organizational behavior. He is an Honorary University Professor in Berlin.
Hans-Martin Weiss, MBA Alumni, will provide a strategic perspective and moderate the discussion.
