October 3, 2014
On Friday 26 and Saturday 27 September, IMD hosted the Biennial International Alumni Event at its campus in Lausanne. The event focused on the digital revolution and its impact on business, society and individuals.
IMD President Dominique Turpin kicked off the event on Friday evening and welcomed the some 400 high-level executives in attendance who have completed one or more of IMD's programs. Professor Don Marchand gave a presentation on digital transformation for businesses before attendees enjoyed dinner and networking at the IMD restaurant.
Sessions on Saturday covered digital strategy for businesses, financial inclusion in emerging markets, how giant digital companies make money, and innovation and IT, with presentations by professors Misiek Piskorski, Charles Dhanaraj and Mike Wade. Guest speakers from Google, HP and other innovative companies also provided thought-provoking insights during the day.
The event was capped off with an elegant gala dinner hosted by Dominique Turpin at the Beau-Rivage Palace in Lausanne.
"Our accomplished alumni community is a valuable asset to IMD," said Johan Govea, IMD's Alumni Director. "During their programs they are a key part of the learning journey, and their success strengthens us. The biennial event gives alumni an opportunity to get a fresh look at business trends and an occasion to network with other business leaders," he said.
