IMD MBAs win prestigious case competition
26 November 2015
A team of five members of IMD’s current class of MBAs just won the 6th annual European Private Equity Case Competition hosted by the Rotterdam School of Management (RSM) in Amsterdam.
IMD congratulates Alex Knecht (USA), Alex Krstevski (Australia), Hersh Shah (UK), Jelmer Hoogendoorn (Netherlands) and Tom Cohen (USA) for their outstanding performances.
The competition was broken down into three stages. Prior to the event, the 10 participating teams had to create a financial model and present an executive summary. At the event in Amsterdam the teams presented their work to a panel of experts from the private equity industry. From there the IMD team was selected to go on to the final round where it had to modify its presentation based on new circumstances presented by the jury to test the teams.
Competitors included other top institutions such as London Business School, ESADE, IE and others. The event was sponsored by PriceWaterhouseCoopers.
The winners from IMD were presented with a membership to the prestigious CAIA - financial association, a prize of EUR 5000 and a trophy.
“The Competition was a capstone to everything we learned at IMD this year. Without the significant individual contributions supported and coordinated by strong team dynamics, we could have never accomplished what we did in such a short period of time. We really put the IMD MBA on the map for finance this weekend. We’ve had colleagues around Europe already reaching out. It’s a proud day for the 2015 class,” said team member Alex Knecht.
IMD's MBA program provides the skills to know, the confidence to act and the humility to lead.
