February 22, 2013
IMD's alumni network, with over 75,000 members is committed to continued learning and keeping alumni on top of current business trends. And things aren't just happening at IMD. Alumni clubs around the world are regularly mobilizing today's leaders to discuss ideas and innovations. Here are just some of the thought provoking events:
There is no set definition of what constitutes a high-performing board, but as the scrutiny placed upon company boards continues to intensify, on March 14, the Denmark Alumni Club is set to discuss the latest trends for board work. Presentations will be heard from Vagn Sørensen, Chairman, TDC/FLSmidth/Scandic Hotels, Søren Thorup Sørensen, CEO KIRKBI A/S and Board Member at Falck Holding/Topdanmark/TDC, and Niels Peder Nielsen, Senior Partner, Bain & Company. Also in Denmark, on March 7, three prominent IMD alumni will speak about future business trends and how their MBA/EMBA experiences have helped navigate their careers. More information.
Recently, the IMD New York Alumni Club had a very successful kick off to the year 2013 in the Residence of the Consul General of Switzerland in New York City. Alumni were honored to welcome IMD President Dominique Turpin who presented "The five mega forces that are changing the business world."
The event was well attended with more than 50 alumni from a wide range of industries and cities in the US and the topic triggered many questions and constructive discussions. The warm hospitality and elegant ambience of Swiss Consul Residence served as a perfect venue for the social networking.
The New York alumni club has been very active organizing events in 2012 and Alumni Club President Grace Lin Xu is encouraging involvement from the alumni community. "While IMD's campus is based on the other side of the Atlantic, we truly see the diversity and global reach of IMD and we want to learn from each other with the engagement of alumni community," she said.
