|Stop Changing Your Culture 2013|
Culture is important. Without the right cultural support, your strategy is not worth the glossy paper it is printed on. With the right culture, people will do the right thing for customers, for safety, for cost-savings, for each other—not because they are told to, but because they believe it is the right thing to do.
You don't change culture. Culture change is what happens when you are busy making other plans. Culture changes itself as a result of what is done and what is said and what is thought by influential people all across the organization, who are usually giving no thought at all to the side-effects their actions, words, and thoughts will have on the culture.
The question, then, is not how do you change your culture. The question is how do you yourself become a culturally-minded leader, and how do you develop culturally-minded leaders across your organization.
In this Discovery Event we'll hear from leaders of organizations who have experience—both good and bad—engaging their people in evolving cultures that can help us understand:
You will walk away with a toolkit for thinking better about culture and a set of examples that will guide you how to put those tools into action.
