IMD Event in Helsinki – Margaret Cording discuss a dynamic approach to corporate strategy
On May 12, 2014 in Helsinki, Margaret Cording, IMD Professor of Strategy and newly appointed Regional Head South East Asia and Australia, will share her ideas on "A dynamic approach to corporate strategy". She will also spend a few minutes on IMD in Singapore and on a unique program offer developed for executives based in Finland working for companies with international growth aspirations.
A dynamic approach to corporate strategy
A perennial question facing executives of multi-business firms is whether or not their corporate portfolio is optimal. Most executives – if presented with a black piece of paper – would not build the portfolio they currently have. Changes in industry characteristics, new technological innovations, or emerging global trends may suggest that a portfolio that once made strategic sense no longer does. Taking a dynamic and integrated perspective on the current portfolio can create value. We will systematically address three central "logics" that must be aligned to maximize value from the corporate portfolio: the strategic logic, the resource logic, and the linkage logic. At the end of this session, you will have a robust framework that can help guide discussions with your executive team and focus the corporate strategy dialogue on relevant and impactful strategic questions.
