Learning and development practitioners have to contend with multiple demands placed on development experiences ranging from competency building to addressing urgent strategic issues.

Leading High Impact Learning 2008 will help you to make sense of the new landscape. Working with a group of likeminded development practitioners from around the world, you will exchange ideas on how to build the right learning experience that addresses your specific issues.

Event Objectives

• An overview of some of the latest experiences and methodologies that IMD uses to create real-world learning experiences – hands on!
• A chance to think about how you can meet future development challenges in your organization by exchanging ideas with a network of peers guided by input from IMD’s Faculty
• A thoughtful look at creating the emotion and establishing the presence you need to build momentum around meaningful development in your organization


Working in plenary sessions, we will explore examples of IMD’s thought leadership in action. You will be exposed to multiple, cutting-edge learning experiences, all with different development objectives, and have discussions on how you could use them in your organization.


As a group we will look at the evolution in learning experience design and delivery from competency building to action learning and beyond. Using real-world examples of learning experiences, we will discuss how to build a truly meaningful learning experience and how to use the cutting-edge tools we have examined together.


As learning and development professionals, we find it relatively easy to get ourselves and our immediate colleagues excited and emotionally engaged in the development experiences we create. But how do we then transmit the same degree of emotion and excitement to the rest of the organization? How much presence do we have when we sell our ideas to others?
