President Peter Lorange emphasizes that Lausanne is IMD’s global meeting place.

Dr. Peter Lorange, President of IMD, the International Institute for Management Development in Lausanne, Switzerland inaugurated the school’s newest addition to its campus: “The Nestlé Building.” It holds a state-of-the-art auditorium, study rooms and facilities for some 50 research staff. Peter Lorange:

"We consider our campus in Lausanne the best place to learn for global executives. Other schools may be spreading out over several locations but IMD has made a conscious decision to welcome managers from all over the world in one location and that’s our campus in Lausanne. This way we offer our participants a truly global meeting place with maximum diversity."

In keeping with its partnership tradition, IMD has funded 50% of the costs of the building itself and has received financial support from Egon Zehnder International, UBS AG and the Sharp Corporation. The building is named after Nestlé to honour the company that has greatly supported IMD ever since the school’s founding in 1957.

Most of the activities in the building will evolve around research and development.

Peter Lorange comments:

"Some 27% of IMD’s costs are spent on research and development. It is a vital element of the learning partnership we have with the 171 global companies that form our learning network. True to our Real World, Real Learning strategy we focus on practical research that is immediately relevant for the challenges our partner companies face today and tomorrow. This high-tech building will help us produce the best thought leadership for our partner companies and participants."
