For the second year in a row, IMD’s MBA program ranked first among all business schools in Europe by business publication Junge Karriere, a subsidiary of German business newspaper Handelsblatt. The ranking was based on a survey of the 34 largest European business schools. IMD also ranked first on performance and image.

For 2005, Europe’s top ten MBA programs as ranked by Junge Karriere were:

2. Insead
3. Rotterdam School of Management
4. University of St. Gallen
5. London Business School
6. Judge Institute of Management, University of Cambridge
7. Warwick Business School, Coventry
8. Esade, Barcelona
9. Vlerick, Gent
10. Aston Business School, Birmingham

The survey’s rankings were based on the following criteria:

• International Composition: Faculty and Participants
• Image: determined by a peer ranking of the MBA programs the questions: "Which European business schools do you respect?"
• Price/Performance: derived by comparing the MBA program's cost to its performance score
• Performance: MBA participant qualifications, measured by GMAT scores, average work experience, and Faculty/Participant ratio
