The IMD MBA program started its 2006 class, led by new Program Director Benoît F. Leleux. Leleux is The Stephan Schmidheiny Professor of Entrepreneurship & Finance and also Director of Research & Development at IMD.

What’s new in the IMD MBA for 2006:

A week-long exercise on Business Ethics allowing participants to understand the sources of their standards of ethical behavior (i.e. religion, economics, social norms) and to discuss the implications on their work and life decisions.

A Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainable Management stream where participants learn how to interact with and lead stakeholders inside and outside the company (i.e., employees, NGOs, the financial community, the press).

A Leading People in Organizations course, combining organizational behavior, human resources management and leadership.

Elective courses redesigned to focus on specific topics in depth such as financial services, value chain management, leadership and innovation management.

A Discovery Expedition Trip to Argentina, where participants will meet with leaders from business, government and the civil society to learn what it takes to do business in a difficult business environment and how business can make a difference in leading the country forward.

The one-year IMD MBA program will retain its key program elements: a focus on innovative leadership and general management and integrated startup and international consulting projects, delicontent with context and emotion.

 The IMD MBA class of 2006 has 90 participants from 45 different nationalities. Their average age is 31 and their average years of work experience is 7 years.

About Professor Benoît F. Leleux Dr Leleux is the Stephan Schmidheiny Professor of Entrepreneurship and Finance, director of the MBA program and director of Research and Development. He was previously Visiting Professor of Entrepreneurship at INSEAD and co-Director of the 3i VentureLab and Associate Professor and Zubillaga Chair in Finance and Entrepreneurship at Babson College, Wellesley, MA (USA) from 1994 to 1999. He obtained his Ph.D. at INSEAD, specializing in Corporate Finance and Venture Capital. Dr Leleux is a specialist in venture financing, combining expertise in entrepreneurship, venture capital, private equity and growth management. His professional experience was mostly as head of corporate venturing for a major agribusiness conglomerate in South East Asia. He is active in a number of investment funds, as well as numerous startup companies in Europe and the US, either as director, investor, and/or advisor. A Belgian citizen, he holds an M.Sc. in Agricultural Engineering and an M.A. in Education from the Université Catholique de Louvain (Belgium), and an MBA from Virginia Polytechnic Institute.
