Open Enrollment Programs
IMD has over 20 open enrollment Executive Development Programs designed for executives at every stage of their careers. The programs, which draw heavily on IMD research, are stimulating and challenging, and emphasize the development of leadership skills and new competencies.
The IMD MBA
The IMD MBA class comprises 90 participants of over 35 nationalities, committed to an intensive 11-month learning experience. IMD prepares its graduates not only to tackle the complex business challenges of the future but also to exercise the leadership needed to obtain results through others. The large number of companies that recruit at IMD confirms that IMD graduates are among the most sought-after.
Partnership Programs – Company-specific
IMD Partnership Programs are co-created with a select group of innovative global organizations to address their specific performance objectives. These tailor-made programs help them to build new capabilities and to address their most significant business challenges. The programs blend academic expertise with hands-on implementation and are designed for learning and business impact.
Partnership Programs are a significant part of IMD's business. All our Faculty design, lead and deliver Partnership Programs, and all have strong experience working with clients to build programs that address their specific objectives.
IMD's strong reputation for custom program design and delivery is the result of our "blank slate" approach. We design each program based on the priorities of the client and the organizational context within which the learning takes place. The final program design comes together through a creative, iterative process. As a consequence, we expect the design of the program to evolve during the development process.
In 2011, IMD designed and delivered 148 Partnership Programs with 120 clients.
Research and development
Learning at IMD has its roots in original IMD research. Currently more than 80 research projects are underway, each led by one or several Faculty members. IMD carries out its research and program development in close collaboration with industry. To create value, Faculty members not only make sure that research initiatives are relevant to practicing managers, but they also produce a steady flow of new material for IMD programs.
Learning Network
Many of the world’s leading companies choose IMD as their preferred learning partner. By joining the IMD Learning Network, these companies have access to IMD's latest management research and knowledge. Rapid global access is made available through the IMD Wednesday Webcast series, an annual agenda of Discovery and Leadership Events, and from books and other research publications. Each learning partnership is unique -- and is defined and shaped by close interaction between member companies and IMD.
Alumni Network
The IMD Alumni Network is a powerful business network of more than 60,000 executives worldwide. Each of these executives has participated in an IMD program. The network is structured into some 45 active clubs around the world. IMD offers on-going learning opportunities to every alumnus through its Wednesday Webcast series, and through class reunions and events, including a biennial international event.
